It's terrible to lose a family member (or in some cases, pets) and most of us have had to suffer that loss. Everyone grieves in differently. Some people may express their grief and overcome it quicker than others who are struggling to mourn and express their feelings. What I found is that scrapbooking can help heal when they suffer a loss. It can provide some closure and help you to grieve in a more productive, because what we are doing scrapbooking is not only showing the pictures, you're telling a story, talk about their feelings and share their pain, even though they show no one.
I did not realize what a scrapbook curative effect until my cat had died and my father in law died. First, my cat died of an apparent attack Pooky the heart when he was 16 years old. I was lucky to be with him when he died, as I would have felt very guilty if he had not been home. The next day, I got a mini album as a tribute to my cat. I made it so special, remembering every detail about it, the nonsense I used to do, what I miss him and how big he was (a regular Garfield). After completing the album, I realized that, hey, that really helped me. I do not feel as bad as the early days after his death. I think I was able to cope with his death, much faster than if it had dismissed the matter.
My father-in-law died in after a rare internal melanoma cancer at the age of 75. This was nearly four months after his birthday. For his birthday, I had the idea of making a scrapbook of his life and tremendous career. I spent long weeks making the album perfect. I loved this man dearly. It was a joy to watch him and see how much I appreciated so it is for him. She was overwhelmed and I think that made me smile for the first time that day. We believe that the cancer had disappeared, but was skeptical. I have known to what many people with cancer and I only know that there is often no cure. It made me feel proud to make him happy, if only for a moment. If I had known him no longer with us four months later, I do not think I would have done that album. Finally, I'm glad I did well because it is a documentation of his life. Now, the rest of the family can watch from time to time and remember him and what a wonderful person he was. It helped me make the album. I was immediately able to mourn when he died and, though sometimes still cry, the pain just becomes less and less.
If you are a scrapbooker, then you might even know what I mean. I guess somehow felt it would help me overcome my grief, as a kind of instinct. People who have difficulty talking to someone about your sorrow and pain are now a way to express their feelings without being bound emotionally to really talk about it with someone. No one else has to do the layout or album. This is entirely up to you. But, if you want to "talk" about it, all you have to do is show someone.
You can find out how to express in their design? Take the best photo of the person or animal, and / or a picture with you. This is the first step. Choose your cardstock, patterned paper to match the photo and set the mood. Then, you may want to write a little something. You can do what he liked best about them, the funny things they did that made you laugh, what happens on them, which is her favorite color, food, animals, hobby was, or just made it so special for you. You can write about how much it hurts, how the loss of this person has affected you. I know it's difficult, but it may help your suffering and some pain. It feels good to get out or on paper and if it is creative, better. You will feel good about creating something, to write their feelings and remember good times with that person.
