A century ago, families take photos, they have developed, and carefully stored in albums that would love passed from one generation to the next. Albums Photo below, rather like the family Bible, was an official document of the history of the family often shared and accessed by friends and family. The same twisting little Jimmy's nose could be a great great uncle Albert, and that continuity was both comforting and important.
Well, Times have changed. Or have they? We're still taking pictures of the family, and genealogy of the family is bigger than ever. What seems to have changed, without But it is our ability to assemble the family album. And the advent of the digital camera has to take some blame.

Even moving a laptop from person to person is uncomfortable, and view images in one group over someone's shoulder is not very satisfactory. No, the images are intended for discs … or scrapbooks … or even frames of the walls or tables. But they are definitely not meant for computers and CDs – if you want to last.
Using CD for photo
CDs are plastic with a reflective coating. That means it is not immune to damage. Scratches, dust and fingerprints on the reflective side can make some data unreadable. CDs can be dropped, broken and trampled. They will not survive fire, being in a car seat in the summer, or deposited in the trunk in the middle of winter. Moisture can also adversely affect them. Even in the best case, CDs will not necessarily last forever. Life expectancy is estimated on the entire board. Recordable CDs are estimated to last 30 to 200 years. Rewritable CDs (the type that can erase and re – used) is estimated to last 30 years. Because CD technology is only about twenty years, these estimates are based on accelerated aging tests, meaning that might be right, or could be wrong.
Photo storage on hard disks is doubtful, too
There are all sorts of things can happen there, too. What about disk failures, power surges, or accidentally deleting the wrong folder? These are the types of things that can end years of irreplaceable photos. Of course you can back up your hard disk with CD (see above) or online services, but how many of us do that?
No, it's much better to print the photos and put them in albums, albums and frames. Then, you can view, share, and enjoy them during the coming years. As families often do.
