I can not tell you how many times I called my mom and said "Mom I have to have the recipe for his homemade cake ice cream. "It was a slow accumulation of recipes in recent years, but she gives every time I call for a new prescription from her.

Many the recipes are actually from my grandmother who passed before she died many years ago. You know, I still remember baking oatmeal raisin cookies with my grandmother, although it's been almost 35 years since the last time I had that opportunity.

Now that I have a grown son and daughter of my account to my wife and I both love to cook, wanted to pass the recipes to each well. Many of these recipes that grew and now have children of their own, are beginning to request. My wife also has a book of recipes from her grandmother on her father's side. He's too old and tattered now use regularly, so it's time it was restored and updated.

So many wonderful memories of the kitchen … many more that I lost in time.

I would like that the idea of a recipe scrapbook had been around when I was a child.

Recipe scrapbooks can be given to the brothers, daughters, cousins, children or anyone. A 8.5×11 notebook works perfectly here in the U.S. and Canada and can print on any standard printer. They are large enough to support a 3×5 index card, a couple of photos and memories on paper than you think. You can use an 8×8 scrapbook and recipes have been consolidated into a square format.

I think it's a great mix to combine photos and recipes. Digital scrapbook templates are perfect for this. For example, combine a family group picture their meeting at the beginning of the album with a signature page of everyone in the picture. This is a great way to start the album prior to the index page. If you have asked for recipes for all the family members in attendance, referring to a photo of the recipe on the recipe page with the recipe on the facing page. I like to put a photo and a page of lined paper memories left with the recipe, instructions and photo of the final product or the fun of cooking right.

Another tip recipe scrapbook of the family is to create a little history with your recipes. If the recipe handed down for generations by adding or of a family member who is not a life, you may want to take the photo at left, the recipe on the right page, and a little more about the history of information about the author on a 3rd page with more pictures. Most scrapbooks are very expandable, especially digital scrapbooks, so there is room for many pages in an album.
